Side View Cherry Jewelry Box
Made from solid cherry with purchased inlays and inlay strips on the top and sides. The box is about 18" wide by 14" high and 10" deep with an inner tray, and 8 drawers on wooden slides and with felt lined bottoms in the drawers.
It took about 6 weeks (in the evenings) to make and finish this jewelry as a Christmas present for my wife. I designed the box using computer CAD software to work out many of the details and make the manufacture easier in my wood shop.
I am currently in the process of making two smaller versions of this box for my son and daughter for Christmas using some of the same design concepts.
What a great box and a wonderful gift. No doubt jewelry boxes make wonderful gifts. Not only are they beautiful and useful, but the time involved in making a beautiful box like this one shows a great deal of care.
