repurposing old wood

by Arlene M
(Paducah, KY)

Q:
I have the 2 sides to an old fainting couch. The wood is very ornate, oak, and in good shape. I would like to repurpose these pieces in any sort of way.

Any suggestions?

A:

That is impossible to answer. You could do anything with it, depending on size, thickness, character, etc. I would start there. Look at the sizes you have and think about what you want to make.

Perhaps you've always wanted to make a specific piece of furniture, or an ornate box, or a ladder for a kitty condo (I just finished making one, so it's on my mind). Really, the possibilities are endless.

Have fun!
