A pair of Bandsawn Boxes

I had this pattern hidden away in my workshop for over 10 years and thought I had lost it until I uncovered it just recently and decided to give it a go.
The timber I used is Rimu one of New Zealands most beautiful native timbers.
The creation of the Bandsawn Boxes was done on my bandsaw and the holes in the legs were drilled out and carved and hand sanded until I had the shape I was happy with. The boxes were then given 6 coats of lacquer with a light sanding between coats, with the final grit 600 paper.
Hi Ken,
Nice job on the boxes. The wood is beautiful and the finishing was well done. I think bandsaw boxes are great fun. They require imagination in a way other boxes don't. It has to do with the free form, I think. (Maybe it's left side of brain vs right side, who knows.)
For those of you who don't know how to make bandaw boxes you can check out my page on making bandsaw boxes. If you aren't sure about design, there are some great books available that can give you ideas.
